The development of this project consists of the construction, testing and deployment of a Web Communication Portal (Portal WEB) based on the SIC system, already existing in the company.

The relationship portal (SIC system) needed to be altered to meet the new expectations of the users. The backbone of this portal was developed in 2004 using ASP (Active Server Page) technology, accessing SQL Server 2000 database. Over time, new modules have been implemented to this system, which has 7 aggregated subsystems now.

The WEB Development (WEB PORTAL) project comprises the reconstruction (layout , branding, layout, text, intelligence) of the relationship with customers portal ( SIC ), as requested by Votorantim technologies. The integrations are performed through Microsoft BizTalk Server.

The Votorantim Group is a Brazilian closed capital industrial conglomerate created by the engineer José Ermírio de Moraes, established in 1918, that brings together companies from various segments, with emphasis on the basic sectors of the economy. It is present in over 20 countries. It is structured in three segments – industrial, financial and new business -, employs 40,000 professionals and profited U.S.$ 4.9 billion in 2010.
