It then moves to net benefits of R$ 33,000 and R$ 48,000 during stabilization. The cumulative balance becomes positive in the sixth month. When the turning point occurs in the middle of a month, divide the unrecovered balance by that month’s net benefit. In the base scenario, the balance at the end of the fifth month is negative by R$ 40,000. R$ 40,000 divided by R$ 48,000 indicates an approximate payback of 5.8 months. The conservative scenario may still be approvable because it produces a positive return, but it requires control over volume and exceptions.
